The piano’s sound energy should be prevented from leaving the room and filling the adjacent rooms by using acoustic insulation panels. If the stomping from the apartment above becomes too much, it can likewise be blocked out with acoustic insulation, for example by installing a secondary ceiling.

Unterschied Akustikdämmung und Akustikdämpfung

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ACOUSTIC ABSORPTION AND ACOUSTIC INSULATION?

Unter Akustikdämpfung versteht man die Verminderung des Luftschalls im Raum selbst durch geeignete akustische Schallabsorptionssysteme.
So werden zum Beispiel Akustikpaneele an die Wände oder Decke montiert, um die schallreflektierenden Flächen zu verkleinern. Ihre Gewebestruktur sorgt dafür, dass sie Schallenergie aufnehmen und in Wärmeenergie umwandeln. Dies führt zu einer Verbesserung der Raumakustik, das heißt, die Nachhallzeit wird reduziert und somit die Sprachverständlichkeit verbessert.
Die Akustikdämpfung wird auch Schalldämpfung oder Schallabsorption genannt.

Die Akustikdämmung ist hingegen eine Maßnahme zur akustischen Trennung von unterschiedlichen Räumen, typischerweise eingesetzt bei Fernseh- oder Tonstudios. Akustikdämmplatten haben zwei Funktionen: Sie halten unerwünschten Schall aus Nebenräumen oder von außen ab. Oder sie verhindern die Schallübertragung nach außen. Bei der Akustikdämmung werden bauliche Gegebenheiten unterstützt oder optimiert. Es muss auf jeden Fall vollflächig gearbeitet werden, um ein Ausbreiten des Schalls zu verhindern. Natürlich müssen auch Fenster oder Türen mit den Akustikdämmplatten ausgestattet werden. Weitere Bezeichnungen für Akustikdämmung sind Schalldämmung oder Schallisolation.
