High rooms in old buildings or event rooms are beautiful. They only have one big disadvantage: it resonates tremendously. If several conversations are held in such a room, it is often difficult to understand what the other person is saying. The reason is also quickly clear to the layman:
The room is just too empty, there are no curtains or carpets.
But how can you improve the acoustics without using curtains or carpets?

WHEN IT GETS TOO LOUD

Egal, ob ein Geräusch oder ein Ton produziert wird, es verbreiten sich Schallwellen. Wenn sie auf glatte Oberflächen, wie Wände, Decken oder Fenster, aber auch Tische oder Kästen, auftreffen, werden sie in den Raum zurückgeworfen und mischen sich mit den nachkommenden Schallwellen. Die Schallenergie im Raum steigt an und lässt schon kleinste Geräusche unangenehm laut erscheinen. Das eigene gesprochene Wort wird unverständlich und eine Unterhaltung wird unangenehm und anstrengend.

In früheren Zeiten wurden oft Wandteppiche als Schallschutz eingesetzt. Schon früh erkannte man die Wirkung in großen Burgen oder Schlössern. Heute gibt es eine einfachere und billigere Variante, die Akustik in einem Raum zu verbessern: Akustikelemente.

Vor allem bei hohen Decken oder Gebäuden im beliebten Industrial Style gibt es häufig Akustikprobleme. Wenn die Wände aus stilistischen oder zweckmäßigen Gründen unverändert bleiben sollen, sind Deckensegel die ideale Lösung zur Schallabsorption.

BETTER ROOM ACOUSTICS THROUGH CEILING RAILS

Ceiling panels are sound-absorbing elements made of acoustic fleece, foam or other materials that can be attached to the ceiling afterwards without major structural measures. They swallow excessive sound waves and thus have a positive effect on the sound in a room.

The high damping value of ceiling sails can be traced back to the material on the one hand and the construction method on the other:
The installation with ropes and hookes means that the sound absorbers are suspended at a certain distance from the ceiling. This increases the absorption surface of the sound insulation, as the sides and back of the ceiling canopy can also absorb sound waves.

In this way, ceiling canopies contribute significantly to improving room acoustics in all rooms where loudness and reverberation are a problem.

The smooth surface of the fleece is thermally bonded. The corners are rounded, the edges have a chamfer. The mottled shades of gray set special accents.

Our PET fleece guarantees up to 100% absorption in the range of the human voice. It consists of 63% recycled PET fibers and can be recycled again at the end of its life.

Dowels, screws, ropes, hooks for fastening to the ceiling are included in every package.

Through distributed one-on-one conversations in the room, discussions around a conference table, or video conferences with a screen, sound waves are often produced directly upward or reflected off the tabletop in front of the participants and directed toward the ceiling. By placing the ceiling panels directly above the sources of noise, they absorb a large portion of the sound energy produced, thereby contributing to an improvement in speech intelligibility.

If you cover around 40% of your ceiling with ceiling panels, you achieve the same result as with a fully suspended ceiling. And you can do so without making major structural modifications to the ceiling. Your ears will love it!

The core for high-quality sound absorption is made of recycled PET acoustic fleece. In the frequency range of the human voice, up to 100% of the sound waves are absorbed.

All panels come with removable covers. You can wash them at 30°C or cover them with new colors.

We will of course send you the assembly material (screws, dowels, ropes, hooks).

WHAT MATERIAL ARE THE SILENT4 CEILING PANELS MADE OF?

We use either an acoustic fleece consisting of 60% recycled PES staple fibers or a high-quality acoustic wool that can itself be recycled for our ceiling sails. Both materials have the ideal structure for sound absorption. With them, you can achieve up to 100% absorption in the range of the human voice.

The coverings add colorful accents to your ceiling or blend the panels gently into your room’s architecture.

HOW ARE THE CEILING BAFFLES INSTALLED?

The PET felt panels are attached with cables.
We include screw hooks that you can simply turn into the panels by hand. Then thread the cable through the opening of the wire cable holder with hook. The screws, wall plugs, and the counterpart for the wire cable holder are screwed into the ceiling using a drill. Then screw on the screw hook and adjust the cable length.

Alternatively, you can choose panels with acoustic wool and a wooden frame. This design allows you to install them using screw hooks. Since these panels leave only a few centimeters of space between them and the ceiling, they are particularly well suited for low rooms.
